What is EUSPA?

The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) provides secure and protected European satellite navigation services, advances in the marketing of Galileo, EGNOS and Copernicus data and services, participates in secure satellite communications (GOVSATCOM and IRIS2), and operates the EU SST Front Desk. EUSPA is also responsible for certifying the safety of all components of the EU Space Programme. By fostering innovation in the space and space-related sectors and collaborating with the EU space community, EUSPA contributes to the European Green Deal and the digital transition while enhancing the security of the EU and strengthening self-reliance and resilience.

European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS)

The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) is Europe's regional satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) used to improve the performance of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) such as GPS and Galileo. It has been deployed to provide safety of life navigation services to aviation, maritime and land-based users over most of Europe.

Galileo

Galileo is a European satellite radio navigation and positioning system developed by the EU, providing full operational autonomy in the development of EU civilian and military missions.

Galileo provides exceptionally accurate time and frequency signals, similar to atomic clocks, with countless applications for transport, communications and emergencies.
